Probably just the pressure of being the favorite.

I think he threw 1 leg kick, which IMO should've been the gameplan from the beginning
Not only this but he looked liked he was carrying a few extra pounds, wonder if there was a training camp issue

The Sundance Kid: An eighth.
Palma: lol, then why can't I call a quarter a 4 ball? You're like a special drug termanology Nazi.
The Sundance Kid: Because you call a quarter, Two Bits. I don't make the rules.

I'm not making excuses, just pointing out the obvious. He didn't even look the same physically. Yes he got dominated. I just wonder if there were other factors that added to the outcome of the fight. Ps glad you noticed I'm back in this motherfucker

Is everyone actually that dumb?

Of course Shogun wasn't himself tonight. It was obviously whatever psychic forces were at work in the Fedor vs Bigfoot fight.

I just don't think there's a mystery about any of this, fighters do experience ring rust. Even consistent training isn't really the same as having had the experience of being in a match 90 days ago. By all accounts Shogun had a good camp and was healthy, he really exerted himself trying to Jones the fuck off of him in the first (who was sitting in half guard at the time).

The notion of anxiety though, that's bat shit crazy. Shogun is a test fighter with experience in huge fights and was the underdog, AND was angry about it. To think his nerves got to him vs a kid who was SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS AS FUTURE CHAMP while never being in a title fight prior is just goofy.

He didn't gas in the fight until he had the shit beat out of him, those are separate events? Coincidence?

I have to agree. This is going a bit far, even for you Coy. I seem to remember you saying that you don't drink or do drugs, so I am going to assume you are just up way too late, or under emotional duress.
