NCAA Wrestling Champion Phil Davis to Fight at UWC: Capital Punishment
East coast-based mixed martial arts leader the Ultimate Warrior Challenge formally announced today a light heavyweight bout between 2008 NCAA National Wrestling Champion Phil "Mr. Wonderful" Davis and UWC veteran Terry "T-Rex" Cohens. The bout will take place at "UWC: Capital Punishment" on April 25th at the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va.

Nick Diaz’s Test Results Come Back Clean
Nick Diaz defeated Frank Sham- rock on April 11 in the Main Event at the Strikeforce: Shamrock vs Diaz event. As a part of fighting in any main event, all participants are subject to post fight drug tests. Diaz, an admitted marijuanna smo- ker, has stated in the past that he could beat the Accutest drug screens that are used by the California State Athletic Commission. According to Assistant Executive Officer Bill Douglas, Diaz came back clean and without traces of marijuana, any type of performance enhancing drug, or any cleansing agents.
UFC 97 Sets New Attendance Record
It was announced at the post UFC 97 press conference that there were 21,451 people in attendance for the night's events. The 21,451 fans not only set a new UFC record, but also a new North American record. In addition to setting an attendance record, UFC 97 had the fourth highest MMA live gate revenue in North America with $4.9 million.
“Mayhem” Wins Kingdom MMA Middleweight Title
Not quite ready to change his nick- name from “Mayhem” to “Hollywood”—despite his newfound television success—Jason Miller (22-6) defeated Hawaii’s own Kala "Kolohe" Hose (7-3) to capture the Kingdom MMA middleweight title at the organi- zation’s debut event held at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii this past Saturday night.

UFC 97: Redemption “Fight Night” Bonuses Awarded
Four “fight night” bonuses were issued for “UFC 97: Redemption.” The amount of each award was $70,000 - going to both Sam Stout and Matt Wiman for “Fight of the Night,” Krzysztof Soszynski for “Submission of the Night,” and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua for “Knockout of the Night” for his victory over Chuck Liddell. The bonuses were announced by Dana White at the post-fight press conference.
Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell To Retire
Even though Liddell did not say it in the post fight interview, he is retired. According to Dana White, Liddell is going to retire. At the post fight news conference Liddell made an appearance and told the media "I'm not going to make any decisions until I go home to talk to everybody, talk to my people and my friends. ... But it's probably safe to say (I'm retired)."
