Stand Up Promotions' "National Muay Thai Championship 2011" delivered another amazing night of Muay Thai fights at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles on March 5. The fight card contained eight amateur fights and three professional fights, including a WBC interim title bout, which made for an all star night of fights as the venue was packed and every seat was filled. Some of the industry’s biggest names were present at the event including professional Muay Thai fighters, Kevin Ross, Christine Toledo, Chaz Mulkey and Baxter Humby

A crowd of more than 7,000 turned out at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio to witness “Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson,” the most recent mixed martial arts event to take place in conjunction with the annual Arnold Sports Festival. Two titles were on the line, with one champion retaining after securing a comeback submission, and with another falling to the devastating right hand of Dan Henderson.

For years MMA matchmakers, pundits, and fans have sought out the next generation of stars. A reality show, such as "The Ultimate Fighter" is the perfect vehicle for bringing young talent to the forefront. However, for other fighters, they have had to make their own way, having to compete for years on small shows or undercards of medium sized events—all in an attempt to impress someone enough to earn a shot on the big stage. Strikeforce will look to continue an incredible stream of momentum as it makes its first appearance in Ohio this weekend at Nationwide Arena in conjunction with the annual Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus. Zuffa-branded events had held the annual date for the last four years, but the rival organization jumped on the opportunity to promote fights in one of the country’s biggest hotbeds of MMA.

M-1 Challenge XXIII kicks off the promotion’s year and sets an incredibly high bar for what’s to come for the remainder of 2011 from overseas and in the USA. Two title tilts, clarity in the light heavyweight (205 pounds) contention picture and multiple striker’s duels will make this event extremely difficult for the M-1 brass to award the event’s fight, submission and knockout of the night awards. Fans worldwide can catch the entire event from the Crocus City Arena in Moscow, Russia live and for free on the official M-1 Global website and MMA Spot starting at 11:00 a.m. EST/ 8:00 a.m. PST on Saturday March 5.

The UFC made its way to the Bluegrass State for the first time, as “UFC on Versus” took place at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The main card aired live on Versus, with two fights streamed on Facebook prior to the TV broadcast. The main event is likely to grab many of today's headlines, as welterweights Martin Kampmann and Diego Sanchez put on an exciting battle for 15 minutes.

The UFC makes its debut in the Bluegrass State at the KFC Yum! Center tonight, with the four-fight main card airing on Versus and two prelim fights streamed live on Facebook. Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann have both been pretty quiet outside of the cage leading up to this fight, as is the modus operandi for both. Other than Sanchez declaring that he will no longer be called “Nightmare” and vowing to stay at welterweight for the time being, both fighters have stayed silent in favor of training to remain relevant in the UFC welterweight division.

Bellator Fighting Championships’ highly anticipated fourth season will premiere this Saturday, March 5, live on MTV2 beginning at 9pm ET/PT from the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, Calif.  Bellator 35 will feature the quarterfinal pairings in the Season 4 Welterweight Tournament, including: Rick Hawn vs. Jim Wallhead, Jay Hieron vs. Anthony Lapsley, Chris Lozano vs. Lyman Good and Brent Weedman vs. Dan Hornbuckle.  A Spanish-language telecast will air on MTV Tr3s on Sunday, March 6, at 8pm ET/PT.

The UFC is proud to confirm the remaining bouts for its first-ever event in Louisville, Kentucky on Thursday, March 3. The fastest growing sports organization in the world heads to the KFC Yum! Center with a loaded card featuring explosive bouts between top UFC contenders. In addition to the main event welterweight fight pitting Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez against Martin “Hitman” Kampmann and the middleweight clash between Mark Munoz and CB Dollaway, UFC officials confirmed today nine additional bouts set to take place in the Bluegrass State.

If there is something to be learned from the UFC’s two ventures into Australia over the past year, it is that there is a very real demand for the world’s premier MMA organization to hold even more events Down Under. The UFC has now sold out the Acer Arena twice (this last time in an incredible two hours) and the reviews have been exceedingly positive. Zuffa would presumably have to rate this latest international show as a rousing success.

While Canada is one of the world’s meccas of MMA, there is no doubt that the UFC has found another regular home Down Under, as UFC 127 became the second consecutive successful show for the organization in Australia. It’s pretty safe to say that we can pencil in an event for the promotion in Australia every February, and officials also hinted at a stadium show in the near future.
