M-1 Global Announces M-1 Challenge Event To Air Live On Showtime
M-1 Global announced today an upcoming mixed martial arts event titled "M-1 Challenge: Bennett vs. Garner" featuring the rematch between the 2010 M-1 Selection Americas tournament heavyweight finalists Pat Bennett (4-2) and Kenny "Deuce" Garner (6-3). The bouts from The Hangar in Costa Mesa, California will air live on Showtime on Friday, July 8 at 11 p.m. ET/PT (Delayed on the West Coast).

Saturday night’s “The Ultimate Fighter: Team Lesnar vs. Team Dos Santos” finale from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. served as a proving ground for nearly all fighters on the card. In the the feature bout of the evening, Clay Guida and Anthony Pettis squared off in order to establish the potential lightweight title contender. Matt Phinney Set To Make MMA Debut At WCF 11
Two-time Golden Gloves regional tournament winner and USA Boxing New England champion, Matt Phinney makes his first foray into the mixed martial arts ring at World Championship Fighting 11, scheduled for June 18 from the Aleppo Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington, Mass. In the main event, two of New England’s rising lightweights battle for the title as UFC veteran Dan "The Upgrade" Lauzon meets Noah Weisman. Phinney faces fellow newcomer Mike Mason on the main card in what is billed as a boxer vs. grappler bout.

Thomas Fires Back At New Talk From Mayorga
Over a year removed from a fight that never was, the friction between Din Thomas and Ricardo Mayorga has still not subsided. Mayorga has continuously made statements regarding fights with mixed martial arts fighters and has been largely ignored, until now. As the one-year mark from the failed Shine Fights “Worlds Collide” event that was to be headlined by Mayorga vs. Thomas passed, Thomas—who has not fought since then—still wants to settle the score with the former boxing champion.

UFC 130: What We Learned
Without a title being contested Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena “UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill” still managed a respectable 12,816 in attendance with a $2.57 million live gate. Although the numbers in the arena, as well as the pay-per-view buy rates are likely lower than recent UFC events, UFC 130 may well have done a lot for setting up the landscape of the sport for the foreseeable future. Several fighters, thought to be potential title contenders, were vanquished by their opponents without showing very well in the process. With some contenders out of the way, and new contenders rising to the surface, we ask our typical post-event question: What did we learn?

Cage Warriors 42 Results, Duffy Remains Unblemished
Through eight previous professional bouts lightweight Joseph Duffy has not only avoided defeat, but has finished each and every one of his opponents in the first round. Saturday’s Cage Warriors 42 matchup against Oriol Gaset would be no different. Duffy needed just under three minutes to pound out another impressive victory, pushing his record to 9-0 with nine stoppages. Also impressive from Cork City, Ireland were Jake Hecht, Cathal Pendred, and more.
