· UFC 126 Injury Report
UFC 127 is on the horizon in less than three weeks but there are still some final details emerging from UFC 126. The injury report has been released to the public by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and several fighters from the event have been medically suspended.
Among the most serious suspensions are Forrest Griffin and Jake Ellenberger. Griffin must have his right foot examined by an orthopedist to be cleared or he could be out until Aug. 5. Ellenberger must also be cleared by an orthopedist for both of his hands or he faces the same suspension. Ellenberger's opponent on the night, Carlos Eduardo Rocha also received a minimal suspension for a scalp laceration. His suspension mandates he have no contact until March 8 with no competition before March 23.
The challenger to Anderson Silva's title, Vitor Belfort is out with no contact until March 8 and will not be eligible to compete until March 23. No reason is indicated. Chad Mendes, Ricardo Romero, and Kenneth Robertson are also suspended for the same duration for undisclosed reasons.
Gabe Ruediger, Michihiro Omigawa and Paul Kelly were all suspended for lacerations, with Ruediger and Omigawa receiving precautionary suspensions due to a technical knockout and head strikes, respectively. Ruediger and Omigawa are suspended until April 7 and Kelly received a no contact suspension until March 8 with a no competition suspension until March 23.
