· Bellator 40 Weigh-In Results
The pre-fight press conference and weigh-ins for Bellator 40 took place today with all 14 participants making weight. Bellator 40 will be broadcast live on Saturday, April 9 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT exclusively on MTV2, and features Bellator Welterweight Champion Ben “Funky” Askren and former UFC and Strikeforce veteran Nick “The Goat” Thompson in a headlining non-title bout.
The main card includes two semifinal bouts from the lightweight and welterweight tournaments. All-American Michael Chandler faces Lloyd "Cupcake" Woodard for the opportunity to meet Patricky “Pitbull” Freire in the lightweight finals, while Jay "The Thoroughbred" Hieron takes on Brent Weedman to determine Rick Hawn’s opponent for the welterweight finals.
