Urban Conflict Championship's "UCC 4: Supremacy" took place last night, April 22 at the Mennen Sports center in Morristown, N.J. The evening provided exciting, high energy fights with fighters that never seemed to tire. Also, for our viewing pleasure, was the high level jiu-jitsu from a member of the first family of mixed martial arts, Rolles Gracie.

The night's main event, while a let down, was full of excitement while it lasted. Felipe Arantes was up against "The Ultimate Fighter" veteran Andy Main. Both fighters had evil intentions in their fists and tried hard to impose their will on the other fighter. After a fast flurry of punches early in the first Andy Main ended up on the ground, and that is when misfortune struck.

In the intensity of the action Arantes threw a knee that struck Main hard in the head—unfortunately it was while the latter fighter was on the ground. After the doctor checked out Main, he ruled that the fighter could not continue and the fight was ruled a no contest due to an unintentional illegal knee. After the fight, when asked about the knee, Main showed his class, stating, “I don't remember the knee, I was out for a second. If the fight film shows that I was standing when it [the knee] struck then they should award him the win."

The co-main event of the evening pitted Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert Rolles Gracie against Braden Brice. The fans were pumped to witness a member of the legendary family perform. Fans, jokingly, yelled out their predictions of “Gracie by head kick!”

The fight started off with with Gracie throwing a head kick that caused him to slip. Brice rushed in and caught Gracie in a guillotine chokeand then jumped guard to get it to the ground. Once on the ground, however, the end was near as Gracie efficiently got out of the guillotine while setting up a head and arm choke of his own. Seconds later Brice was tapping out, due to a... well, no one really knew what the choke was, as the announcer said it was a headlock and Rolles Gracie said he “thinks” it was a head and arm triangle choke.

The title was on the line in the 135 pound weight class with Sean “Shorty” Santella up against Sidemar Honorio. This fight, was full of action wherever it went. Mainly a stand up affair, both fighters showed crisp boxing, and solid striking en route to a split decision fight. With an eruption from the crown the split decision victory went to Santella.

In a show of extreme poor sportsmanship, while on the way back to the locker room, Honorio turned on his heels and ran back to the cage. While most of the crowd assumed he was going to shake Santella's hand, in truth he ran back to grab the mic and announce his disgust with the decision. To the crowds dismay he exclaimed, “The only reason I didn't get this decision is because I am not American.” The event's staff and his cornermen, upon hearing this, quickly rushed him out of the arena.

There was one knock out on the night. Mike Stewart, with 10 seconds left of the fight—and probably needing a stoppage for victory—connected with a hard punch that sent Glen Sandull crumpling to the canvas. Instantly knowing he knocked him out, Stewart walked away with his hands raised in victory.

In "weird news" for the night, a scheduled fight between Gabriel Miglioloi and Mike Budnik did not occur. After both fighters weighed in for the event, Mike Budnik never showed up at the event center for his battle. At the time of the announcement nobody knew why Budnik did not show, and no reason appears to have been given.
