· “Cage Warriors Fight Night 1” Results

This past Thursday Cage Warriors Fighting Championship made their Middle East debut in Amman, Jordan. Inside the Le Royal Hotel up-and-coming fighters from the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as international talent, took the stage for "Cage Warriors Fight Night 1." The event was headlined by heavyweights Andreas Kraniotakes and Jay Mortimore and seen globally on a series of networks and streaming outlets.

Headlining the card was a heavyweight clash between two powerful strikers, as top 10 U.K. ranked Jay "Mean Streak" Mortimore (6-1-0) faced Germany’s Andreas "Big Daddy" Kraniotakes (9-4-0). Mortimore came into Thursday’s bout on a three-fight win streak looking for his fourth straight technical knockout win. However, Andreas Kraniotakes, also known for his knockout power, returned to his winning ways after suffering a submission loss to Ajlin Ahmic back in April. Kraniotakes overwhelmed Mortimore with a powerful assault, winning with brutal ground-and-pound near the end of the first round.

In the night's co-main, American Jake "Hitman" Hecht (9-2-0) faced off with veteran Italian striker Michele Verginelli (13-8-1) in a middleweight match-up. Hecht, a former HIT Squad standout, known primarily for his wrestling skills, used those skills to win all three rounds, in a dominant performance. The win was Hecht’s third in a row and likely propels him towards the top of the Cage Warriors middleweight division.

Also on the main card was a U.K. vs. France lightweight encounter between Dan Hope (8-2-0) and undefeated striker Jean N'Doye (4-0-0). The Frenchman N’Doye eventually wore down Hope in the third, forcing a referee stoppage late in the round.

The night's other heavyweight contest pitted former M-1 Team England heavyweight Dave Keeley (4-2-0) against the American Joel Wyatt (9-5-0). Keeley pounded out Wyatt with vicious elbows, winning by knockout in the second round.
