For every major UFC main event to air on pay-per-view, Spike TV unveils a prime time special that goes inside each of the headlining participants' training camps and sits down one-on-one with the fighters. Accordingly, "UFC 129: St-Pierre vs. Shields" is getting the "Primetime" treatment which will begin airing on Wednesday, April 13 at midnight on Spike TV. For DirecTV subscribers, Spike is channel 241. Check your local listings for other cable or satellite providers.

The bout between Georges St-Pierre and Jake Shields is unquestionably the biggest fight in welterweight history. The division has never seen a champion so dominant fighting a number one contender that is not only just as impressive, but who has moved up to a higher weight class (middleweight) and defeated highly-ranked opponents there as well.

Shields has not lost a fight in nearly seven years holding both the EliteXC welterweight championship and the Strikeforce middleweight championship. Along the way, he has earned victories over former champion Dan Henderson, Jason Miller, Robbie Lawler, Paul Daley, and Carlos Condit, all UFC veterans (just to name a few).

Meanwhile, Georges St-Pierre has defended the UFC's welterweight championship five consecutive times since reclaiming the title from Matt Serra three years ago. He has only two losses in his career, both of which he avenged—over the aforementioned Serra and one of the greatest champions in UFC history, Matt Hughes. While Shields has won 15 straight bouts, St-Pierre holds wins in 14 of 15.

Spike TV will present "UFC Primetime: Georges St-Pierre vs. Jake Shields" in three special weekly installments.

UFC 129 takes place April 30 in Toronto, Ontario Canada and will air live on pay-per-view. The rest of the fight card is as follows:

  • Claude Patrick vs. Daniel Roberts
