Following the last minute withdrawal of both Rory Markham and Drew McFedries, Titan Fighting Championship officials announced the addition of brothers Jake and Jared Rosholt to Titan Fighting Championship 18, scheduled for May 27 at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan. and set to air live on HDNet at 10 p.m. ET. In the main event, mixed martial arts legend Jens “Little Evil” Pulver meets Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Brian “Mr. D” Davidson in an 140 pound catchweight bout.

Unfortunately, an infection has recently sidelined McFedries forcing his hospitalization, while Markham has withdrawn due to significant opportunities pursuant to his film career.

“We were extremely disappointed when the management for Drew and Rory informed us of the news. However, this is the fight business and having promoted fights since the age of 24, I’ve dealt with a lot of hurdles in promoting shows,” Titan CEO Joe Kelly stated. “While losing Drew and Rory from the show hurts, we took the news in stride. I am very excited that the fans in attendance at Memorial Hall and those watching live on HDNet are going to see two future stars in this sport step up on short notice and test themselves.”

A former WEC and UFC fighter, Jake “The Bolt” Rosholt (11-3) brings an incredible wrestling pedigree into his match with John Ott, having won three NCAA titles, a Big 12 Conference championship and multiple all-American honors. In his Zuffa tenure, Jake went 2-2 with notable wins over Nissen Osterneck and Chris Leben. Since being dropped from the organization, he is 5-1 with four consecutive victories on his record. Stepping in on short notice, Jake faces Ott in a 200 pound catchweight match.

Ott (8-8), another wrestler, recently competed at Titan Fighting Championship 17 in March where he faced WWE and Strikeforce veteran Bobbly Lashely. Though Ott weathered the early storm from his opponent, and pushed the contest to the final bell, Lashely was awarded the unanimous decision.

Jake’s younger but larger brother, Jared "The Big Show" Rosholt (2-0) follows in his sibling’s footsteps as he makes just his third mixed martial arts appearance. Also endowed with the grappling gene, Jared was a multiple time all-American wrestler and recently won the Abu Dhabi Regional Trials in California this year and is set to compete in the Abu Dhabi Combat Championships in the United Kingdom. Jared takes on Kirk Grinlinton in a heavyweight tilt.

Grinlinton (2-2) last fought at True Fight Fan Entertainment’s “Clash in the Cage” in February of 2010 where he defeated Dumberto Salinas by technical knockout at 2:59 of the first round. All four of Grinlinton’s fights have ended by technical knockout.

“When you look at brother acts in MMA, it’s clear that Ken and Frank Shamrock are the best brother-tandem to have ever graced this sport,” Kelly added.

“However, when the respective MMA careers of the Rosholt Brothers have come to an end, I have no doubt in my mind that Jake and Jared will surpass the Shamrocks as the greatest brother duo in MMA history. I believe that Jake Rosholt will return to the UFC and eventually claim the middleweight title and those that I know who have seen Jared Rosholt train tell me that he is going to be a future UFC heavyweight champion. Having two future UFC champions compete together on national television so early in their respective careers is going to be special.”

The current card for Titan Fighting Championship 18 is as follows:

  • Jens “Little Evil” Pulver (24-14-1) vs. Brian “Mr. D” Davidson (6-3) at 140 lbs.
  • Jake “The Bolt” Rosholt (11-3) vs. John Ott (8-8) at 200 lbs.
