Lemoore, CA. (March 5, 2011) — Bellator Fighting Championships highly anticipated fourth season kicks off tonight when the promotion makes its debut LIVE on MTV2 beginning at 9 PM. The night’s action will feature four opening round welterweight tournament fights, with the winners moving on to the semifinals later this season.

“Tonight’s live Bellator premiere on MTV2 at 9:00 PM should be spectacular,” said Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney. “Our welterweight tournament is absolutely stacked, so our fans at the Tachi Palace and watching on MTV2 are in for a great night.”

The tournament includes "Judo" Jim Wallhead and former Judoka Olympian Rick Hawn squaring off in an explosive matchup, hard hitting Anthony Lapsley taking on highly touted Bellator newcomer Jay "Thoroughbred" Hieron, Dan "The Handler" Hornbuckle meets Brent Weedman in a quarterfinal fight, and the Bellator 35 Main Event pits former Bellator World Welterweight Champion Lyman "Cyborg" Good against fast-rising undefeated knockout artist Chris "The Assassin" Lozano.
