Gesias "JZ" Calvacante VS Daisuke Nakamura At DREAM 11
posted by Brad LeBeau
In what was already looking like a stacked event DREAM has added another great fight to the card. The always dangerous Gesias "JZ" Calvacante (14-3-1) is set to take on the master of the armbar Daisuke Nakamura (20-10). This event which will air live on HDNET in North America is set to take place Oct 6 at the Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa, Japan.
"JZ" is looking to bounce back after suffering back to back losses for the first time in his career. The American Top Team product has not looked the same since suffering a knee injury that kept him out of Yarennoka in 2007. Since that injury, he has one controversial no contest and two losses. Expect"JZ" to come out with something to prove in what should be a very entertaining fight.
Nakamura is coming off an impressive win over Judo star Ferrid Kheder at the recent M-1 Breakthrough event. He systematically picked off Kheder throughout the bout and picked up the unanimous decision victory. Nakamura is always dangerous, winning eleven of his fights by armbar and a remarkable three by flying armbar. Nakamura is willing to take the risk to pick up the win and that is what makes the Japanese star a fan favourite the world over.
Here is how DREAM 11 is shaping up:
Main event:
- Joachim Hansen VS. Shinya Aoki
Featherweight grand prix final:
- Semifinalist 1 VS. Semifinalist 2
Featherweight grand prix semifinal:
- Bibiano Fernanders VS. Joe Warren

Featherweight grand prix reserve bout:
- Kazuyuki Miyata VS. Daiki "DJ.taiki" Hata
"Super Hulk" semifinal:
- Hong Man Choi VS. Ikuhisa Minowa
- Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou VS. Bob Sapp
