Rick Story Reportedly In For Daley Against Brian Foster

posted by J. Andrew Yount

With Paul Daley stepping in against Martin Kampmann at UFC 103, his original opponent, Brian Foster, is in need of an opponent. Enter Rick Story. MMAjunkie.com is reporting that Story has agreed to face Foster on short notice. UFC 103 will be broadcast on pay-per-view September 19, from American Airlines Arena in Dallas, with part of the preliminary card also broadcast live on cable network Spike.

Rick Story (7-3), a native of Portland, Oregon, lost his UFC debut to John Hathaway by unanimous decision at UFC 99 in June. Prior to joining the UFC ranks, he was riding a six fight win streak which included wins over Jake Ellenberger and Ryan Healy.

Brian Foster (12-3) is a member of Matt Hughes’ H.I.T. Squad, and brings some excitement to the cage with him for his UFC debut. None of Foster’s fifteen professional bouts have gone the distance, with only one going past the first round in the last three years.

With the recent line up changes, the projected card for UFC 103: Franklin vs Belfort from American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas is:

Vitor Belfort vs. Rich Franklin
Junior Dos Santos vs. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic
Paul Daley vs. Martin Kampmann (still unconfirmed by UFC officials)
Josh Koscheck vs. Frank Trigg
Hermes Franca vs. Tyson Griffin

Spike TV Broadcast
Efrain Escudero vs. Cole Miller
Tomasz Drwal vs. Drew McFedries

Un-Aired Preliminary Card

Nick Lentz vs. Rafaello Oliveira
Brian Foster vs. Rick Story (still unconfirmed by UFC officials)
Jason Brilz vs. Eliot Marshall
Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Igor Pokrajac
Rafael dos Anjos vs. Rob Emerson
